Recommendations and limits.

Here is where it shines, and where it needs a little help from you. We would rather you know before your first meeting.

A stable connection

Wi-Fi or cable at a desk. The translation is a continuous stream, so it lives on a steady line.

A good microphone

A headset or a laptop with a decent mic, in a quiet room. The better the sound in, the better the words out.

One speaker at a time

Online calls are the home ground. Mute yourself when you are not speaking, and leave a second or two between speakers.

Mobile internet can stutter

On 4G or 5G with an unstable signal, captions may pause and catch up. On the move, use Pocket Translate: it is built for the phone and picks up again after short dropouts.

Loud rooms and far voices

Music, a crowd, or a quiet person at the far end of a long table: fewer words get through. Move the device closer.

People talking over each other

The bot tells speakers apart by voice. When two people talk at once it may attach the wrong name for a moment. The words are still in your transcript.

How accurate is Getix Translate, really?

Good enough to run a meeting on. Not good enough to sign on without reading. Numbers, names and legal terms are where AI slips, which is exactly why the original always stays on screen next to the translation, and why you can load your own glossary. In the replay at the top of this page the model gets a date wrong and then corrects itself. That is what a live model looks like, and we would rather show you than hide it.

Where does my audio go?

To our speech vendors, to become text and to come back as a translated voice. It does not go to a human. What kinds of providers we use, which region they run in and how long anything is kept is on our privacy page; account holders can request the named list.

Does Getix Translate work with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Send the Getix Translate bot to the call and it joins under its own name, listed with the participants, and you admit it like any guest. It also works with any call or video that plays in your browser tab, and in the room with a laptop or a phone on the table.

Is Getix Translate a substitute for a certified interpreter?

No. It helps you follow the conversation. It is not a substitute for a certified or sworn interpreter where one is required.
