Getix Translate for hospitality and tourism: Q&A
What is Getix Translate for hospitality and tourism?
An AI translator for businesses that work with tourists: tour operators, travel agencies, guides, venues and restaurants. Live captions in each person’s language on calls with clients abroad, at the table and on the tour. 60 languages, up to five at once depending on the plan. Run from Valencia, Spain, under the GDPR, the EU data protection law: accounts and transcripts are stored in the EU. Running a hotel? See Getix Translate for hotels.
Does it work for calls with clients abroad on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Send the Getix Translate bot to the call and it joins under its own name, listed with the participants, and you admit it like any guest. Your client opens the captions link and reads in their own language. It also works with any call or video that plays in your browser tab. Regular phone calls are not translated.
Can a tour guide use it with a whole group?
Yes. Start the session on your phone and share the link with the group, in your group chat or on a screen. No receivers to hand out: each guest opens the link on their own phone, picks their language and reads along, with A+ for bigger text. No account, nothing to install. Up to five languages at once, depending on the plan.
Can restaurant staff use it at the table?
Yes, with Pocket Translate on any phone, on every plan: hold Me to speak, hold Them & around when the guest answers, and the translation appears on screen; the AI voice can read it out loud, depending on the plan. For a longer talk with a group at the table, lay one phone down and share the link.
How well does it handle place names, dishes and numbers?
Good enough to plan a trip and run a tour on. Not good enough to sign a contract without reading. Numbers, names and rare words are where AI slips, which is why the original always stays on screen next to the translation. Load your place names, dishes and hotels into the glossary, and put prices, times, meeting points and allergens in writing too. It is not a substitute for a certified or sworn interpreter where one is required.
Where does the audio of our calls and tours go?
To our speech providers, to become text and translation. It does not go to a human, and we do not train AI models on your meetings. What kinds of providers we use, which region they run in and how long anything is kept is on our privacy page.
How much does it cost, and how does the free trial week work?
Plans run from €13.99 a month (Intern, 2 hours of live translation a month) to €169.99 (Boss, 45 hours a month for you and 5 team members). All prices include VAT. For a travel team, request your business price with the form on this page: a person replies and agrees the conditions and the usage limit of your free trial week. No card.
